A Color Year is designed to turn the photos on your iPhone into a color diary without sending your original photos to us.
1. Who operates the app
A Color Year is operated by ONE SHOT STAR. For privacy questions, contact i@oneshotstar.com.
2. Photos and color calculation
After you grant Photos access, the app reads the local photo assets needed to group images by date and calculate a representative color for each day. The calculation runs on your device. We do not upload, store, or sell your original photos.
3. What stays on your device
The app may keep a local color index, scan progress, selected year, preferences, and small pieces of photo metadata such as dates and local identifiers. These are used to show your diary and make later scans faster. They are not sent to a server.
4. Sharing and Apple Intelligence
When you choose to share, the app creates a color card or poster and opens Apple's system share sheet. The destination is chosen by you. Original photos are not included unless you add them yourself. When Apple Intelligence is available, it may create an optional sharing sentence from aggregate diary information such as the year and its colors. This processing is designed to run on-device; a deterministic offline sentence is used when it is unavailable.
5. iCloud and notifications
The app works with photo assets available to the device through Photos. It does not independently download an iCloud Photos library. Optional reminders are local notifications scheduled by the app; we do not operate a remote push-notification service.
6. Analytics, advertising, and purchases
The initial App Store release has no advertising, behavioral analytics, or in-app purchase flow. We do not sell personal information. If a later update adds purchases or supporter features, we will update this policy and the relevant App Store disclosures before enabling them.
7. Deletion and permission choices
You can change Photos permission in iOS Settings. You can reset the local diary from the app's About screen; this removes the app's cached color data and does not delete photos from Apple Photos. Deleting the app removes its local app data according to iOS behavior.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app changes or when legal requirements change. The effective date below will be updated with each revision.
